When the Doctor Says No: Natural Results and Patient Requests

They say the customer is always right, and for the most part that’s true. In cosmetic surgery, Dr. Broadway’s practice has always embraced the fact that the patient’s wishes are above the wishes of the doctor. Dr. Broadway’s philosophy is to educate the patient and let him or her choose the best option, but he will make sure to keep the patient out of trouble.

And it’s that last part that can cause the occasional problem. Occasionally, a patient will request a procedure that Dr. Broadway may think will have an unnatural looking result. Breast augmentation is a perfect example. We’ve all seen the celebrity photos; women with breasts that are out of proportion with their bodies. The results look both unnatural and unappealing; it’s a complete reversal of the goal of cosmetic surgery.

When a patient receives breast implants, it should be well proportioned with their unique physique, and raise the question as to whether her breasts are real or augmented.
